Sony Ericsson 580i battery life? I have been having problems with the battery in my new cell phone. The life of the battery has probably not even been 7 hours and that just with texting, and nothing else. Not even using the music player. Please let me know do I have other alternatives to this batter lithium Polymer battery??? Lithium Ion is better huh??
Stephanie W replied: "Yes, Lithium Ion batteries are better, if you have had your phone for less than 30 days take it along with the box it came in the receipt, charger (home) and owner manual back to the store you bought it at and demand a new phone!!! You have a 30 day in store warranty meaning you can return it to the store and as long as they are in stock you can walk out with a new one.. I hope you haven't got it wet.. If so they will charge you full price for the phone if you do this... If this doesn't work u have a one year warranty on the equipment tell them the battery wont hold a charge and they will send you a new phone and you have 2 send yours back by mail..."

Is it really better for a Cell Phones better life if you totally drain it before recharging? I have a new Sony Ericcson W600i cell phone and I love it, so I want to get the best out of the battery life. I have heard that on Lithium-Ion batteries it is better to wait until the battery is totally dead before you recharge it. Is there any truth to this?
Gilmore Obsessor replied: "I have a LG VX-5200 and I charge it after it is completely dead, my iPod nano the same.
I've heard it is best no matter what kind of battery you have in any kind of device using a battery."
pateld1218 replied: "I also have a sony ericcson phone but to preserve battery life, you don't charge it every night but only when the battery gets really low so less charging=more battery life"
Warlord replied: "yes. all batteries will die in the end eventually but to prolong your battery life, it is recommended that you drain all the juice before recharging it up again. usually when you have like one bar of energy left you can recharge, other people I know wait until it dies completely before recharging. it doesn't add to your battery life by any means, it just helps it "live" longer."

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55/P battery question? I am interested in buying the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55/P but I am not sure of the whole battery situation. It says that it uses a lithium ion battery...and the only thing I know of that battery is for a cell phone. How would I charge the battery? Do I have to buy a charger for it?
gilbert_koa08 replied: "theres a charger comes with the camera. use that for charging."
Which laptop should I get, a sony viao or a hp? I have a budget around $1,400. I'll be using the laptop for school, music, games, and blue ray movies. With sony, im customizing the fw laptop with a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz) , Microsoft s Vista Home Premium 64-bit , 4GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 2GBx2) memory, 320GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [7200 rpm], ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 with 512MB vRAM graphics card, and a LCD 16.4" (XBRITE-FullHD) display.
however;with hp, it has the same vista operating system, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13GHz), same memory, same hard driv except 5400rpm, a 1GB ATI Radeon(TM) HD 4650 Graphics card, 16.0" diagonal High Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display (1366x768), but it also had a built in webcam and mic, and im planning to get the 12 cell lithium battery.
So0o0o0, what do you think?

Canadian Bacon replied: "They're basically identical...both would be considered gaming laptops."
Lord Garth replied: "Personally I would side with the HP. Slightly faster Hard Drive and the Nvidia vid card is a little bit superior. I will admit the two systems are very close, but HP is really designing some cool things these days, and I would put my money with HP before Sony. Also HP Customer Service are GREAT to deal with. They will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and will go to great lengths to keep you happy. I am speaking from experience. The Tech. Support guys are terrific and will take the time to help you with virtually anything. Go with HP--that's my two cents."
Ishri replied: "the hp could be used for semi-pro video/photo editing while the sony could be used for gaming"
Which is better: HP or Sony Vaio laptops? I need a laptop for school and I want it to last for all 4 years. First off, how much RAM, hard drive, etc. does a college student need? I've narrowed down my search of laptops to HP and Sony (don't really like Dell or anything else). Money isn't that big of an issue for me, I know that Sony's cost more than HP but I hear they are more reliable. Is that true? Which brand would you recommend? The 2 laptops I'm considering are:

WirelessRouter replied: "Hi Zachary,
It all depends on your requirements. If you are looking at something for Gaming purpose, it has to be Sony. Additionally Sony has a B/G/N compatible wireless connectivity support, whereas most Laptops have upto G compatible wireless.
If your requirement is for regular Office / Home / Internet / Email / movies etc, HP should do for you.
Update / Email in case of any queries or further help required.
