Allegra, Allegra D, and Nasacort AQ for a sleep problem? I recently went in for a sleep study because I'm always tired during the day. I usually woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. My doctor sent me to and ear, nose, and throat specialist after the study. The results said I slept fairly good but had a problem with my oxygen saturation, it was about 83%. The specialist said there was something that was keeping me from getting oxygen in my blood. He assumed my breathing was restricted and prescribed a sinus rinse followed by Nasacort AQ twice a day, Allegra D in the morning, and Allegra at night. I have not found any information on any of these drugs that go along with what the doctor told me (or at least what I understood). I was just curious of how this helps my oxygen levels in my blood or if there was some other reason that it seems to be working. I have only been on the medication for about a week but I can't believe how much of a difference it has made (except for feeling crappy and disoriented the first day). I don't go back to the doctor for a few weeks but I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these types of drugs for increasing oxygen levels (if that's what they are really doing). Does anyone have information on this?

AngelWithAnX replied: "Allegra D is an antihistamine which causes the blood vessels to dialate. Basically, the blood vessels open up wider and allow more blood to flow through...more blood equals more oxygen."

What pre ion allergy medicine should I try now? Hi guys, Opps. Accidently deleted the last one. I suffer with allergies throughout the whole year, which often times turn into Sinus Infections. I've tried Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec, and Nasacort AQ. None of them seem to work. The Nasacort AQ works for maybe 3 hours and that's it. I've also tried herbs (Fenugreek, ALJ-contains thyme, fenugreek, goldenseal, and Mullein). I'm going to the doctor again on Tuesday to see what we can do because now my lips are extremely dried out and feel like they're burning. I have no food allergies that I know of. I have had allergic reactions before to things like Nair, make-up, and detergent, but that's it. I've also gotten sensitive to smoke within the past year. It flares it up right away now. Typcial symptoms include: runny, watery eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, swollen glands, pressure in face, sometimes head pain, sometimes neck pain, fatigue/sleepiness, What other allergy medicines are out there that will work good

BRIAN J replied: "You are going to have to do strong research with the help of Medical specialist. Continue to try many specialists so they each can do the work."

lyfsavr1 replied: "I suffer with allergies as well and so far what has worked for me is Nasonex. On real bad flare ups I supplement with either Alavert and or Tylenol Multi-symptom. These combined with the Nasonex have worked miracles in me. We are remodeling our house and have ripped down our ceilings and walls. You can imagine the mess we had...106 years worth of dirt and dust, not to mention the allergy problems that went along with it. Also I have since found out I am allergic to these stupid asian beetles. So I have been supplementing a lot lately. Anyhow, try those. Good luck."

sammy replied: "i take atrax and it works v. well but its also very very drowsy and its even hard to get up the morning after you take it. I know how you fell im allergic to all shelfish, wool, carpet, dust mites, make up and cats its very anoyying since some of them are life threatening, so yeah and i carry an epipen around"

sansrival replied: "It is better to see an allergologist & have a skin testing for the common allergens & have you immunized with it. It is quite expensive but I think it is worth it."

New Life Style Today . Org replied: "I currently still use Allegra D but I have cut way back since I introduced a natural and healthy super juice into my life 2 months ago. A friend of mine who also suffered from allergies has completely gotten of of his allergy medicine since he started drinking this juice 6 months ago. I am convinced I too will be totally off of my medicine before long."
